CoP Refresher Training for Ratings Other Than Chief Integrated Ratings
To make sure that you qualify to complete just the refresher training for Ratings other than Chief Integrated Ratings, please refer to AMSA’s marine notice STCW06 (filename amsa1569.pdf) which can be downloaded from www.amsa.gov.au. In summary, you must have 3 months seatime on a 24 metre or longer vessel over the past 6 months or one year in the previous five years. There is also a requirement to download a letter template from AMSA and have your employer sign it confirming that that you have had the seatime claimed.
If you do not have the seatime required or cannot arrange for the seatime letter to be signed by your employer then you will need to enrol in our CoST Two Day Revalidation Course. In addition you would need to complete the full course for ‘Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats’ (We call it PSC for short). Unfortunately we do not offer the full PSC so you would have to go to another training organisation for that.
If you do not hold a Security Awareness Training (SAT) endorsement then you will need to additionally enrol in our SAT Online course before applying to AMSA for revalidation of your CoST.
The PST theory Online Learning as well as the PSC Refresher Online Learning must be completed the Friday at 5pm before attending the two days of face to face Refresher Training. Whilst it is not required that you complete the PST Final Assessment for this refresher training, you can complete the Final Assessment if you wish.
